Jabo Ibehre has joined Stockport County on a month's loan.
Having chosen to sign for Roberto Di Matteo's MK Dons in the summer, rejecting a new contract at Walsall to move closer to London our former forwards career has taken a turn for the worse.
It was unfortunate for Ibehre when the man who signed him left for West Brom before the season had begun. Once Paul Ince took the managerial reigns at Stadium MK again, Jabo found it hard to establish himself in the side, largely being restricted to appearances off the bench.
A loan to Southend gave him a fresh start but he was unable to add to the single goal he scored this term at Milton Keynes, and Southend lost 4 out of the 5 games he played although against some strong opposition in Swindon, Charlton and Norwich City.
This will be a big move for Jabo as his career looked to be on the up at Walsall, attracting rave reviews for his 100% commitment displays following his release from Leyton Orient. Since leaving Bescot, he is risking becoming a journeyman striker. The Walsall fans adored his all action style and he quickly became a fans favourite but it goes to show the grass is not always greener on the other side.
